ABOUT FOUNDER, HARRIET FROST
I grew up in a little surfy town called Newquay in Cornwall, England. Home being on a small farm, the beach on my doorstep and was lucky enough to have the most awesome childhood and teenage years. Leaving to go to Southampton Uni to study Writing Fashion and Culture I soon continued to fly the nest Worldwide, although I was still on the hunt for my 'dream career'.
I ALWAYS knew I wanted to have my own business.....I worked in various jobs from the age of 14, some stranger than others; care work in Cornwall, super yachts in Miami, a Taxi driver in Newquay, keeping my skills broad and putting my all into every single position I held. When moving to London in 2011 with over 20 jobs on my CV I had many recruiters telling me to edit them down, I didn't and I still to this day stand by every single job I've had. I have learnt something from every one and never ended a position on bad terms, every job served a purpose and has taught me valuable lessons, getting me to where I am today.
After three amazing years in London I made the long awaited move to Australia in 2014, following a family of friends to their home land. The decision was not a hard one and gave me two amazing years living in Byron Bay, Sydney and Melbourne. I learnt a lot from the Australian work culture, working in several start up companies as well as the opposite end of the spectrum working for the Government. The expectancy of people to have a great work life balance, for companies to promote this with great Wellness programs, incentives and the huge flexibility of working hours was a big eye opener and I really hope to hold on to what I have learnt and spread the word of the benefits for both employees and employers to really act on this and make big improvements. When the logistics of visa's meant I had to leave Australia's fine country I felt it was an easy move to make to just jump the river over to New Zealand, where enjoyed 2 years of the good Kiwi quiet life, this is where Grit Culture put down firm foundations, expanidng my client base, alongside training for a half Ironmans and ultra marathon....because balance.
I am now back in Cornwall in the UK continuing to grow Grit Culture, work with incredible clients that are doing great things and looking into new avenues my own business can grow, whilst helping other's build theirs.
